Building a Patient-Enabled Healthcare System to Meet the Needs of Modern Patients Who Seek Greater Involvement in Their Own Care

Mor IsHealth is a developer of hospital information systems with a vision to elevate healthcare through digital technology. The company offers its services in two main forms:

  1. Software Package
    A ready-to-use software solution that complies with both Thai (HA) and international standards (JCI, AACI). As the company fully owns the software license, our in-house development team can enhance and customize the system as needed—without relying on external vendors, whether domestic or international.

  2. Custom Software Development
    For hospitals whose needs cannot be met by existing market solutions, the company offers tailored software development services. In such cases, our software package can serve as a base platform, helping to reduce both project risks and total costs compared to building a system entirely from scratch.

In designing the IsHealth platform to meet the needs of hospitals, we divide the system into three key components, each serving a distinct group of users:

  1. HIS (Hospital Information System) – for hospital staff and clinical operators
  2. Patient Mobile Application – for patients
  3. Data Analytics System – for executives and administrators, both at the departmental and hospital-wide levels

1. HIS (Hospital Information System) – for hospital staff and clinical operators

The primary goal of the system for hospital staff is to reduce the time required for daily operations while maintaining service quality and ensuring patient safety in compliance with standards such as HA, JCI, and AACI.

We selected a team with expertise in both technology and medical processes, who are attentive to the pain points of professionals across various departments—doctors, nurses, pharmacists, medical technologists, finance personnel, and more.

We utilize a process visualization tool, developed specifically for hospitals, to design workflows. This tool helps both the hospital team and our company gain a shared understanding of processes, reducing miscommunication and making it easier to identify opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate unnecessary steps, and reduce workload on staff.

These components enable us to design and develop systems with the ultimate goal of saving time and improving operational efficiency—meeting the most critical needs of the hospital.

2. Patient Mobile Application

Allowing patients to use a Patient Mobile App for two-way communication with the hospital can significantly reduce the workload of hospital staff across various departments. It also improves patient satisfaction by enabling them to access information and complete various tasks on their own, without having to rely on traditional hospital communication channels.

  • Patients can schedule appointments, choose doctors, and select dates and times by themselves. As the appointment approaches, the system automatically sends a mobile notification reminder. Patients can confirm their attendance via the app, eliminating the need for staff to make reminder calls.

  • On the day of service, patients can engage in other activities while waiting, as the app will notify them when their queue is approaching. There is no need to sit and wait in front of the consultation room.

  • After receiving care, patients can make payments through the app without waiting in line, reducing the burden on financial staff. If patients do not wish to wait for medications, they can leave immediately after treatment. The system supports medication delivery and remote pharmaceutical consultation via telepharmacy.

  • Hospital staff can send documents directly to the app instead of printing everything for the patient, such as checkup booklets, appointment cards, lab results, and more—saving time and reducing printing costs.

While many hospitals already have Patient Mobile Apps, they are often limited in functionality. This is due to the complexity and high cost of integrating mobile apps with HIS systems, which often results in unmet expectations or budget overruns.

Our Patient Mobile App has been designed as a native component of the core system from the start. This enables truly seamless communication between hospital staff and patients, as demonstrated in the examples above—not just as a vision, but as a working reality.

 

3. Data Analytics system for management across all levels of the organization

In addition to hospital staff and patients, we also support hospital executives—both at the departmental level (such as nursing, pharmacy, medical technology, finance, etc.) and at the hospital-wide level—through a comprehensive Data Analytics system. This system supports decision-making across various domains, especially in the optimal allocation and utilization of resources, ultimately helping hospitals achieve their goals efficiently.

We focus on delivering decision-driving data to executives. The key to making this possible lies in our team, who not only understand the real-world decision-making contexts of hospital executives but also have the technical expertise to build robust data pipelines. These pipelines lead to data visualizations that are not only visually appealing but also easy to understand, clear, and actionable—enabling precise and informed decision-making.

As with the Patient Mobile App, our Data Visualization system is designed as a core part of the platform. Executives can access dashboards and visual insights directly within the system, without needing to export data to third-party tools. This ensures that the data is real-time, reliable, and truly empowering for high-quality decisions.
